# 388 Charlie Williams
Very quick claim to frame and answer to a trivia
question....Only player traded for Willie Mays....took place at the tail end of Mays’
career a month into 1972....even though the trade made headlines, Charlie spent
a majority of that year in the minors....journeyman at best...started his MLB body
of work in 1971 with Mets coming off a fine 12-5 W-L record at AA Memphis.....Staying with the Giants, was stuck
in spot starter middle relief mop up roles up to 1977....268 total games and
only 4 saves....a slight winning career at 23-22....most active season was 1977 when he was 6-5 in 119 innings....middle
name is Prosek....passed away in 2015.
