#641 Mike Lum

full name: Michael Ken-Wai Lum…significant player: the first American of Japanese Ancestry to reach majors…followed by Bob Fenwick…Mostly a reserve but was able to appear in more than a 100 games a year in 9 of his 15 seasons…far and away best season was 1973 he put up 16 home runs, 82 RBIs, and .294 average…current holds Hawaiian record for games played… no longer hold the Hawaiian record for home runs but is second for now…records will most eclipsed in the next few years…Adopted as a baby by Chinese couple…was Braves mainstay appearing in their uniform for 12 seasons…Took a three year detour with the Reds and finished his MLB career with Cubs...A baseball lifer and he continues to coach.
